2018 Track and Field Championships

11/06/2018
House and Age Champions

What a fantastic  2018 Athletics Carnival. The school had over 76% attendance on the day with students participating, cheering fellow team mates and/or supporting staff. Nearly all staff were involved in preparation and execution of this major school event especially Mr Brad Burdon and is fellow HPE staff.

The feedback from the Barlow Park crew, Cairns Football Club and Cairns Pride was that it was easily the biggest and best carnival they had seen and that our kids were magnificent. We are all very proud and parents should be too.

Special congratulations to Collins House as OVERALL CHAMPIONS!!!

In addition to the predominantly dressed up students having a lot of fun there were also some outstanding athletic achievements with some records broken:

There have also been some shout outs to the crew at the Health Hub and also to the Clontarf young men. From the HealthHub perspective there were minimal injuries and first aid issues, the sunscreen tally showed over 100 students per house applied cream on the day and litres of water was supplied.

The Contarf young men did an exceptional job with the sausage sizzle and assisting the Canteen ladies. They also transported equipment to and from and up and down 2 flights of stairs to the Barlow Park kitchen.
