Students and staff sign pledge against bullying

Cairns High Captains put on a huge event at lunch time in the Quad on Friday 16 March 2018. It was National Day of Action against Bullying and Violence and the Quad was filled with smiling faces, games and entertainment.

Talented student musicians played their instruments and sang, juniors entered into a poster competition to mark the day and hundreds of staff and students signed a pledge against bullying.

Students had a great time and were informed/reminded of what bullying is, how to deal with it and to not be a bystander.

In addition to this at school event, and to raise awareness of the impacts of bullying, four of our Year 11 Peer Support Leaders went to Parramatta State School, and spent time with the students and informed them about:
1) what is bullying
2) what to do if one is being bullied and 3) what to do if one is a bully

It was clearly a day that Cairns High proudly set out to "Take Stand Together" and declare "Bullying. No Way!", as an NDA school.
