The search for Cairns High memorabilia for Centenary Celebrations commences

2017 Centenary Celebrations - celebrating 100 years for Cairns State High School.
The search for Cairns High memorabilia has commenced.

With only 6 months remaining Cairns State High School continues the search for past students and teachers to join in next year’s Centenary Celebrations. Cairns High will celebrate its 100 year milestone with the launch of a history book, a Joint Reunion Function and a School Open Day involving school tours, displays of memorabilia and other official school events throughout the year.

Cairns High has evolved and transformed into a highly sought after, internationally accredited, independent public school with a strong reputation for its excellence programs and opportunities. Since 1917 this great school has seen much change, through the post-war era, the Great Depression, the Rock n’ Rollin’ 50s, the groovy and radical 70s and 80s and the crossover to the 3rd millennium. Souvenirs representing snippets of these times throughout the years would have been collected by parents, students and teachers along the way.

Uniforms, text books, certificates, trophies, student diaries etc., this list is endless, have also evolved and transformed. Anyone in the Cairns community who has kept any memorabilia is encouraged to donate or loan the items to the school. Cairns High memorabilia will be displayed during some of the planned events next year. Please email any offers to

The Cairns High Centenary Celebrations facebook page has pipped over 1000 followers!
