Resource scheme

Cairns State High School operates a Student Resource Scheme to lower the cost of providing textbooks, consumables and other personal resources for students.

This scheme is endorsed by the P&C as it is a cost effective way to provide resources.  The scheme is voluntary and parents/carers have the option to purchase their own textbooks and also make payment for the direct cost of the consumables which are provided by the school.

The scheme’s general charges (not including subject specific charges) are as follows:

Text Book and Resource Allowance:

  • Year 7, 8, 9 and 10 - $123
  • Year 11 & 12 - $266

Resource Hire Charges:

  • Years 7, 8 and 9 - $495
  • Years 10, 11 and 12 - $570

International Baccalaureate Program Diploma - $2,158 pa per year and  is in addition to other year level fees and charges.

There may also be additional charges for subjects that have high consumable costs or are non–compulsory.
