Talented 2015 graduate and Bond Uni Film student Lizzie Cullen is developing her graduating film and has set up a fundraising campaign on Indiegogo.
Compared with the expected production, the budget is quite modest and Lizzie is directing her script, acting in it, as well as creating the ‘creature’.  Along with her brother and graduate of Cairns State High, Julian as Director of Photography and co-Editor, these talented siblings are both developing impressive film industry CVs.
Check out the video and background to the campaign and then head over to her most recent and award-winning short film, Mothlight. There are also some great incentives for people who donate, including original artworks.  The screening is scheduled for the end of 2019 when it will also be submitted to festivals in Australia and overseas.
It’s a real family affair with not only brother but also mum and dad also pitching in with driving and catering during the filming.
There are a lot of direct costs involved, so the actual budget will be well over $10,000. The university expects them to raise funds, and that process is part of their assessment.  While they use a lot of uni film equipment, they have to pay actors and crew, including some accommodation and airfares, art/construction materials, special effects, composer and also hire a special lenses to achieve the cinematic quality that Liz and Julian want the film to have.
Now it’s Cairns State High’s turn to kick in their support. Let’s get Lizzie over the line! Donate today.
