The school’s Guiding Statement was first published in December 2015 and was formally reviewed in 2017.
It articulates includes the school’s
Mission statement, the Vision, the traditional Latin motto, values, and learner attributes. It also highlights the strategic direction of the school which has 2 major and 2 minor pillars.
The Guiding Statement was
developed in consultation with staff, parents and students.
The Guiding Statement now includes the Cairns High Learner
Attributes (adapted from the IB Learner Profile) which form the foundation of
The school has developed
Guiding Statement Monitoring Procedures which will monitor support across the
school community both formally and also through the collection of feedback.
Following regular review processes involving staff, students and parents/carers, the Guiding Statement is modified to better reflect the needs of the diversity of students in the school and the school's strategic direction.
