  • Year 8-12 students Connect rooms will be on display at several high-traffic areas in the school.
  • Students new to the school in 8-12 will meet one of our staff members at the main entry, or follow the signs to students and one of staff will take you to the Connect room and introduce you to the Connect teacher.
Check out all the latest Student Update here.

Booklist

Booklists are on our school website!

  • Year 7 students are advised to purchase from the basic list and await further advice from subject teachers as the term progresses.
  • Year 8-12 students will also need the basic list and those necessary items from the subject list.

Timetables

Timetables are being finalised constantly and will be issued on Day One.

While students may be able to discover what classes they have when they check QLearn before the start of school, these are proposed classes only and are not necessarily locked in until all last minute changes to the timetable are made.

Students (and parents/carers) are asked to refrain from emailing staff about the classes they see on QLearn before the commencement of school. The time for dealing with timetable issues and selection changes is at the start of school when it is finalised.

After timetables are finalised and issued,  it is time for specialist equipment to be purchased for 8-10 students. Year 11 and 12 will be aware of their subject choices.

The number of teachers, financial resources and allocation of teacher aide etc resourcing is dependent on our final actual enrolment numbers collected on the 8th school day by the Department. If our final resourcing is more or less than predicted, then timetable changes may result. This is the same in all Schools, Colleges and Universities.

New students

Make sure you have reviewed the materials on the New enrolment website.

Especially be sure to have completed the surveys which help us to get to know you, help you understand the school policies and commence the transition to school.

Uniform and behaviour

We are proud of our school and students wear the school uniform to reflect that pride. The consistent high standard of our uniform assists students while at school, in the community and as job seekers, university scholarship applicants and community members. Students agree to our uniform standard set by our community at enrolment.

Shoes, Jewellery etc

Please make sure footwear, jewellery, piercings and make up are within the Uniform policy within in the Code of Conduct for students

  • No hoodies are permitted and will be taken to student services for safe keeping until the end of school day.
  • Fake eyelashes are considered banned jewellery items and must not be worn at school.
  • Please make sure students are wearing white socks.

Phones

A reminder that we priotise learning so have had a clear policy regarding mobile phones during the school day for years.

If taken to the office because a mobile phone is used contrary to policy by a student, only a parent/carer can collect. It is not necessary for students to come to the office or appeal to the office staff if their phone has been handed in.

The new battles: Tik Tok & Vaping

Vaping is banned in Queensland and will be met with an educational consequence in the first instance. We ask family to discuss the risks of vaping with children of all ages.

Tik tok challenges, trends and other silliness are not appropriate in the school enviroment - a learning environment.

We love our toilets

Students are expected to care for the amenities in the school and use them appropriately with concern for the needs of others. Vandalism, loitering or huddling in groups in toilet cubicles is not permitted.
