The FORMAL uniform is required for more frequent wear in 2023 and into the future but only in full and as per the uniform policy. Mixing Formal with Sport uniform items is not considered appropriate and this may limit student engagement in activities. There are many shirts available at discounted prices at the moment from the small number we kept for borrowing.
- Year 7-9 need their formal uniforms from now on.
- The absolute latest they must have them organised is by the Awards ceremony on Oct 09 this year.
- The re-design of the uniform will eventually see the boys and girls shirts made in the same style and colour, but for now we will sell down older stock.
- Girls must wear the stripy heritage tie with their shirt, not the small blue cross over ribbon.
- The right socks and shoes must also be worn. Absolutely no runners or casual shoes of any kind. Traditional black polish-able school leather lace ups are uniform.
- Year 10 SET-P Interviews:
- Students must present in formal uniform for the interview scheduled to discuss progress in Year 10 and plans for 11/12.

- Year 11
- You should be purchasing Formal uniform NOW in 2023.
- Prefects, House Captains, School Captains and student council leaders will need their uniform sooner for events once Year 12s leave in 2023, but all Year 11 students will need a formal uniform by October 10 and then at various other occasions in 2023 after that and many, many in 2024.

- Year 12
- We understand that Year 12 students are close to concluding their time at Cairns State High
- Girls can continue to wear a blue skirt if that is the version they have purchased.
- For Awards night on October 10 they will need a formal uniform and as we do not have any to lend, they will need to borrow from others.
All school photos for the start of 2024 - along with a very, very long list of events and activities, ALL students will require Formal uniform.
