Cairns State High School's Transition Day, is an important part of their preparation for commencing Year 7 in 2026. We look forward to meeting them—and you—on Wednesday 10 December 2025.

Transition Day plays a vital role in our enrolment process. Activities completed on the day assist us in finalising class placements and completing administrative requirements for the 2026 school year.
Transition Day Information Wednesday 10 December 2025
Students are asked to wear:
- Their transition shirt, or their current primary school uniform and hat
- Appropriate footwear: covered joggers or school shoes with socks
Students may bring their own morning tea and lunch or purchase items from the Tuckshop.
Families are responsible for transport to and from the school.
Drop-off & Pick-up
Drop-off: 8.00am–8.30am at the Grafton Street STOP, DROP and GO.
Pick-up: 3.00pm from the same area.
Staff will be present to welcome students, guide them, and support them throughout the morning. Please expect heavy traffic at both drop-off and pick-up times.
2026 Start Dates
- Monday 26 January – Australia Day public holiday
- Tuesday 27 January – Term 1 commences (all year levels)
