Force Recruitment Process
- Can apply at 16 ½ but can’t join until 17 years old
- Must be an Australian citizen
- 3- Step Process as follows:

Consists of Career counselling (3/4 hour), Aptitude test
(computer based – 1 hour), Medical questionnaire with nurse

2. Assessment Day
- Interview with psychologist
- Medical Officer – go through
questionnaire and physical test
- Job Interview
- If applying for an officer level,
there will be leadership questions and further interview with Officer Selection
Board including oral presentation.
3. Fitness Test
- Occurs one month prior to joining –
can do practices

General Entry
- Non-Technical – Year 10 Maths and English (exceptions may
apply)
- Technical (Trades/Apprentices) – Year 10 Maths, English and
Science (exceptions may apply)
Officer Entry
Officer – Year 12 Maths, English and 3 other
Authority/General subjects
ADFA (Australian Defence Force
Academy)
- Student to be on an OP/ATAR pathway
- Apply through both Defence Force (can start process at 16
years) and UAC (University Admissions Centre – UNSW)

My QCE - Student Portal Account
All students must have a My QCE Student Portal account in Year 11 and 12. This is where final results and your QCE are released to at the end of Year 12. You will need your LUI to set-up your account. The school emails this to all students at the start of Year 11 and 12.
